Hello. My name is Melinda. I work for a manufacturing company in the shipping department. I’ve been doing this work for many years: fourteen years to be exact. One thing I have learned is that not all transportation companies are alike. Each company we work with has different guidelines, and it’s up to us to know and follow them. We ship our goods within and outside of the United States. We can seriously delay customers' orders if we don’t follow transport guidelines. This also applies to individuals who use transportation. I’m going to try to help you know what to look for when going over a transportation company's rules and guidelines. Most of the time, you’ll find it to be cut and dry, but there can be some tricky wording. I hope that what I’m going to share will be helpful to you.
